Purse week - A chocolate folly

Finally after brewing in my head for a few days, and being pushed aside by a nasty strep throat and the motions of my daughter's bedroom redo, I have been slaving on this second entry to purse week the past couple of evenings.

The idea came when I feel in love (and brought home) a "new friend" from the Coach outlet.  It was impossible to resist a 80% discount on a leather designer purse, and donating money to the race for the cure at the same time.

A couple of days ago I cut the basic piece a for a mockup bag to figure out if I was even going to be able to pull this off. I also didn't want to start cutting that gorgeous chocolate damask and see it end up in an epic fail due to lack of preparation.

It was a good thing I did... Believe me I got very attached to my seam ripper on this one. VERY. Long story short, after an epic fight to finish it on time, and some hesitation on the button style for the closure  it's DONE !  And I love it... now I have to get my hubby to take me out on a date so I can show it off.

  9. Oh my -- how gorgeous. I absolutely love it. The fabric is so pretty and elegant and the pearls add just the perfect touch.

This is my first visit to your blog and I'm really impressed with your creativity. You seem to know how to do so many different things. The proof is in the fact that crafting has taken over your basement...I know that feeling (haha).

I look forward to following you and I invite you to do likewise.

  10. @ Jocelyn : still working at that date thing. Between finding the right day in a busy schedule and finding a babysitter, I might not be able until next week.

@ Melissa: the fabric is a big part of it

@ Kat : I was going to do a fabric strap, then at the last minute I realized it would just be too "busy" , thankfully after the stashbusting challenge I knew I had those stands of perls that were the perfect finish touch

@ Jan: welcome on board, what is a great compliment to get spotted someone like you. I love your Interior design eye!
