It's not perfect by any means but it was 100% free. The lace came from my stash of "deconstructed clothes", the yellow fabric from adult sized tunic and the top from a terminally ripped t-shirt. I think I did OK, and Bug likes it so it's all good.
I'm still struggling with knits, a few chosen word did get uttered and my seam ripper got busier than usual. Altogether, this time around it came out much better than the previous attempt.
That is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCaroline, I can't believe that is an upcycle!! It looks so fresh and "springy" , well done! x
ReplyDeleteSuch a georgeous summer colour..yellow and blue are my favourite colours for summer dresses. She looks really pretty in her new dress..well done Mum!
ReplyDeleteThis is my kind of project!! I think it turned out so great!! :)

Wow, that's amazing. Very pretty dress.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I need a tutorial on this! WOW!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and springy!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love how all of the old pieces worked together to make a lovely dress. Are you using a ball point needle with your knits? Also, really thin knits (like from old bedsheets) love to get stuck in my machine and curl up. I use a larger seam allowance and try not to cut the pieces until right before I need to sew them.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeletethis is just too cute!!!! you did a fab job!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes! I was right. I was looking through the projects on CSI and saw the thumbnail and thought, "Hey wait a minute. That cute little girl looks like Bug." Your dress (as always) rocks! I love the color, love the sweet little design and love the 100% on-hand-ness. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, thanks for sharing.
