Cookie cuteness

My first batch of sugar cookies was a learning experience. It was my first time using royal icing and it helped me figure out a few things that made my second batch that much better. Feast your eyes, I wish you could taste them too because they are pretty good :

Thankful for tankless

Murphy's law applied to this week: our water heater went belly up - well it started leaking and was about to dump 50 gallons of water all over our newly installed hard wood floors in the basement family room. Yes, a week before Christmas. But we are lucky enough that one of our neighbors is a plumber. So we called him and he ordered and installed a tankless water heater instead. Already loving how little that thing is and how much water it can heat up. Looking forward to not having to wait for the water to reheat after a bath or a long shower!!
